Uncreative

I haven't been feeling very creative lately hence the lack of blog entries. My mind feels lazy and unproductive. I've been filling my days with video games, naps and movies. I've barely been playing guitar and writing music has been something that seems so long ago. I have written some music in the past month but its rubbish! No Good! I need for a change to happen in my personal life. I'm pretty content with work - they pay me enough - the work is easy - the people are cool, etc...I almost feel like I'm settling into old age.

I wish I could pack up Stowie, my job, my friends, the weather & the pretty girls and bring them all back to Massachusetts. It's a lovely thought but not very reasonable, but when have I ever been reasonable?

I need a haircut. I want to dye my hair again. Maybe this weekend! I want to meet someone who fucking blows me away the way Erica and someone else did.

I'm going to bring my video camera to a New Year's party I'm going to so I'm hoping some good footage comes from that and if so I'll post it on my site.

super sized love,
gso

MySpace Sluts

I usually only go on MySpace if someone messages me, leaves me a comment or if I posted a new video. Over this little Christmas break we had I decided to search the girls that lived in a 5 mile radius around my zip code. 75% or more of the girls profiles I looked at had these photos in their profile where they all have blonde hair, are hugging another one or many of their girlfriends with their cleavage busting out, their leathery tan skin shines like a new 2007 Honda Civic & they're all holding their favorite mixed drinks. These are the girls in life I LOVE to look at but AHHHHHH can't stand meeting in real life. They are such a dime a dozen especially here in San Diego. I need some East Coast Biotches that haven't turned "Californian" yet! Where ya'll at?!?!

Sleepless in San Diego,

Napping Overrated?

Napping is defined as "sleep: a period of time spent sleeping; "he felt better after a little sleep"; "there wasn't time for a nap"
haha when isn't there time for a nap? Everyone must know I love napping! I started napping a lot when I moved out of my moms house and on my own at the ripe old age of 21. It was probably the mix of working/commuting into Boston and Paxil. I would basically take a nap when I got home from work and then go to bed at like 11pm. Well I've continued practicing the "art of napping" to this day and I'm actually better than ever at it. Because now I work 20 minutes from my house and I'm not on any medication. So I can now nap just by eating something, watching TV on the couch, laying in my bed or surfing the internet. Am I becoming an old fart? Or am I just well trained machined that knows how to nap? The reason I'm bringing up all this nap talk is because for the last two weeks I haven't really napped much and it's affecting me! Why do you ask haven't I been napping? Well the reason is I've been going to the gym sometimes right after work and that's usually when I nap. If I don't go to the gym after work I get caught up on the internet with some fascinating story on Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey or a story on why Tara Reid's boobs have gotten bigger over at yeeeah.com.
The lack of naps has been making get tired as early as 7:00 pm. I can barely keep my beautiful green eyes open past 9:00 pm these days. Please pray for me so I can get back to my golden days of napping - There's nothing like the feeling of crankiness, blurry eyes, confusion & bad breath after a nice long 3 hour nap!

I'm Scared To Fly....AAAHHHHH

It's been 15 years since I was last in an airplane. I used to fly all the time from the ages of like 7 through 10 years old but I haven't flown since. When I used to fly as a kid I wasn't scared and I didn't worry about anything. I remember getting super excited to go on the plane and being able to see the clouds and tiny little houses and people that looked like ants from so high above.

When I hit puberty (isn't that a nasty sounding word "puberty" haha ewww) I started to develop anxiety issues. I began worrying and over analyzing everything to the point where I would have trouble sleeping, going out in public, going school, etc..I would just totally freak out in my head like I'd want to run away from everything and just feel safe. I have since found ways to learn how to deal with my anxiety and try to put it in the back burner and not be such a fucking dork about it and let it get the best of me ("the best the best the best the best of you" Foo Fighters haha).

Well this leads into my fear of flying. I'm not actually scared of being in a plane and flying and getting in a plane crash. I'm more scared of being on a plane and having an anxiety attack and not being able to get away from everyone so that I can get to a place I feel safe and secure in. I also don't want to look like a fool by having an anxiety attack in front of everyone. I'd hate to be the one guy on the plane who looks like an asshole because he is freaking over nothing and he can't control himself. My anxiety issues are basically me worrying about not looking like a fool in front of everyone by having an anxiety attack and me feeling safe and in control of the situation I'm in.

If I continue to live on the west coast/California I'm going to have to fly back eventually for something. For instance my brother is getting married in June 2006 in Tennessee and it's a bit to far to drive so that leaves me with not going which I don't want to do or I need to fly. In order for me to fly again I'm going to need some meds that relax me and then after a few flights I'll be fine and I won't need any meds. I tend to let things I haven't done in a long time get the best of me. Does that make me a fucking pussy? haha..Yes probably but it's how I've lived my life and I'm trying to change..kinda..Well I'd like to change! Help me change, get me some meds, a soft pillow, a pretty girl & a free plane ticket!

Hopefully this explains why I'm not going back to Massachusetts for the holidays...I'm a big crybaby loser punk nerd dork fag prick sucka playa kid!

Whole Alotta Asians

First off I'm not a racist and this is not a racist post just more of statement - so fuckin' booyah to you. California like almost everyone has heard or seen first hand has A LOT OF ASIANS! Now this isn't a bad thing in fact the Asians I have met are very driven, smart, ambitious and they like rice in every meal! They also like eating lots of nasty ass seafood and chicken (white or yucky dark meat) The reason for me posting my short essay on Asians in California is because I'm so bored of looking at Asian women! Sure they generally take care of themselves and are pretty BUT there's so many of them I'm so fuckin' bored of looking at them. They are over populating all other races of woman. I LOVE SEEING A PRETTY GIRL but since all I see pretty much is Asian woman I've become bored of woman and I'm thinking of starting to maybe have sex with a man...
haha j/k about the man part :P
When I do see a pretty girl it's like "Holy Shit LOOK it's a fine ass girl and she's not Asian!!!" Don't get me wrong here I'm not looking for a girlfriend I just like to look..you know me like I know you so we both know each other pretty well...did that make sense to you? Good!

In conclusion I DO LIKE ASIAN PEOPLE, I DO FIND ASIAN GIRLS ATTRACTIVE, I ALSO LIKE RICE, I ALSO LIKE CHICKEN (WHITE MEAT ONLY)...Oh ya The white girls I meet have either wanted to party or do party way too much, are crazy or are nasssssttttyyyyyyy!

The End of An Era

Erica played her last show with me last night. It was bittersweet because on one hand we had a lot of the friends we have met since being out here at the show which is awesome but it also signified the end of Erica and I playing music together. Erica and I have written a lot of songs I'm really proud of and I'm sad, scared and excited for the future of my musical career. I now can make The Predicates whatever I want. I mean its not like I couldn't with Erica in the band but its just a bit easier now because I am the one and only person now. I'm not sure if I want to get a whole band together or go solo...I dunno if I'm good enough to go solo I feel like I need a side kick onstage with me to laugh at my corny banter and sing harmony with me. I have a whole slew of songs written and some more songs that are half done that I just need to finish up. I want release all the songs I like which is quite a few but copyrighting is pretty expensive @ $35/song. I'm looking into Creative Commons licensing which is free and it allows others to use my work if they give me credit. I really like the free part and I really like the option of others being able to use my work as long as they give me credit because it gives me a wider audience if someone covers a song I wrote. I honestly also don't really care about making money off of my music I'm down with people just downloading it and telling me they like it or it made them horny or happy or sad or whatever other emotions humans have.

Checkout some photos of Erica's Last Show!

Big Love,

Gregg

What Am I Listening to?!?!?

Good question! You can now track what I listen to! I downloaded a free program called Audioscrobbler. You just choose the music player you use and then download and install audioscrobbler. It then tracks all the music you listen to and puts them in a neat little package with charts and also recommends bands you may like. Wicked cool!

See what I'm listening to!

P.S. In the future just click on "Listening" under links to continue to see what I'm listening too. You love music!

1 Year Anniversary in San Diego

I arrived in San Diego on November 21, 2004 after a 6 day car trip across the United States of America. The first thing I encountered in California was the sand dunes and people riding their 4-wheelers on them. I quickly encountered driving in between, up and down these huge mountains, well huge for me because Massachusetts is basically pretty flat with very little mountain area. I was so freaking scared of these mountains and they seemed to go on forever I was so happy once we got past them. When we finally got to our final destination The Vagabond Inn in Hotel Circle it was raining and kind of cold. I was surprised because everything I heard about San Diego was that it never rains and its always warm. We lived in the Vagabond Inn for 4 days with me, Dave, Erica & the 2 dogs in a 2 bed room. We found the apartment we live in now in the newspaper and it was one of the only places that allowed dogs, near the beach and relatively cheap.

Pros of San Diego:
*Consistent weather with very little rain (it didn't rain once from like February 2005-October 2005)
*Areas near the beach are very pretty with cliffs, greenage & awesome beaches
*Tons of family activities to do (i.e. Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Padres, Chargers)
*The girls per capita here are the prettiest I've ever seen. (it's hard to go somewhere and not see pretty girls)
*2 hours from anything (the beach, the mountains, desert, snow, etc...)
*Everyone here is from somewhere else (I've met more people that weren't born here compared to being born here - its cool you get different accents and traditions)

Cons of San Diego:
*Anything not close to the beach is burnt/desert looking and extremely hot!
*Houses/Apartments are small and no one has a backyard and if they do its tiny!
*People here per capita are the flakiest I've ever met.
*Anyone where you go its always packed and busy. (you can go to Target on a Monday at 2pm and the parking lot is filled!)
*It doesn't rain enough and the weather is consistent. (for me its a double edged sword)
*You need to take a written test to change your drivers license over to California. (this is such bullshit)
*California taxes everything including clothes and at the incredibly high rate of 7.75%!!!

There are a lot of pros and cons to living in San Diego just like any other place. My one year here has been great and bad. It's been fun and boring, I've longed for Massachusetts and been glad I'm far away. I've met some really cool people like Lissa (Panamasian Princess), Michelle (Complicated Lahhover), Brandon (Big Texas), Bill (Pittsburgh Sucks), Kim (Folk Girrrl), Stephanie (God's Girl), Joy (PinkbeltRAGE)...

If you'd like to watch our photo slide show with music for our trip across the country, you can download it here (it's an exe file so after it downloads just open it and it'll automatically play)

Thanks to everyone who has been super cool and interesting in San Diego!

XBOX 360 Launch Party Marathon

My Xbox 360 journey began yesterday morning @ 9:00 am when I called EBGames.com to confirm that my pre-order that I ordered on September 5, 2005 would be shipping on November 21 and that I'd be receiving it November 22. When I got on the phone with a representative he told me "You missed the deadline for first shipment by 5 days and yours order will be shipping second shipment" ok well when is 2nd shipment? "we don't know". I was like FUCK that sucks so I went onto Plan B: Camp out at Best Buy in Mission Valley and get a damn XBOX 360! I picked up my friend Stephen from his work @ 3:00 pm and we got to Best Buy @ 3:15 pm. When we arrived at Best Buy we noticed there were already 25 people in line. Fuckin' crazy huh?!?! The first person was in line at 12:00 pm. Immediately upon waiting in line we struck up conversations with about a small group. We met this one couple Nicole and hmm I can't remember her boyfriends name, anyway Nicole just got breast implants like 4 days ago so she was icing down her boobs - I Love Ice Cold Boobs! Another guy was from Belgium but now goes to school in San Diego and another guy did his Accounting homework for literally 9 hours! My friend Bill from work and his roommate Herzog came down to hangout with us - Bill actually was nice enough to bring me a 6-inch Turkey & Cheese sub from Subway. At about 10pm the line was filled with about 90 people and these 90 were guaranteed Xbox's. At around 12:30am Best Buy came around handed us tickets with #'s on it guaranteeing us an Xbox and said we can leave for the night but to make sure we are back by 8:00 am or else we don't get an Xbox. 75% of the line went home to go to bed after that but guess who stayed like a stupid ass - ME! I live like 7 minutes away from this place but I was like I'll stick this out and try to sleep. I couldn't fall asleep outside because it was FREEZING so I went in my car turned on the heat but I don't think Honda Civics are made to be slept in. Civics are so small, so I literally slept 20 minutes the whole night. At around 6:30 am the people in line the previous night began to come back to the store and reform the line. After 17 HOURS of waiting it was 8:00 am which signified Best Buy was opening! I got into the store and I picked up an extra wireless controller, a play and charge kit, an extra rechargeable battery, Perfect Dark 0 (game) & Condemed (game).
Leaving with an Xbox 360 in hand and knowing that I was now going home to sleep and play the most powerful console ever in history sounded like heaven to me!

Sour Cream On Top Of Some Shaved Roast Beef

I recently was a guest on a NEW podcast called Spatcast. It's a podcast where the host of the show Erica and a guest argue/spat over something. Well our topic of discussion is kind of graphic so you probably won't want to listen to it with your mom or dad around unless they molest you or something. The topic at hand is "sexually" based so I'll leave it at that! I'm probably going to lose a lot of female fans and gain a lot of gay ones haha!

How Gay Is Gregg?

I know a bunch of you think, thought or predict I am/will be gay someday and you're probably seeking some kind of percentage/mathematical way to figure just how gay I really am! Well there is a website that has finally figured out the math equation to this and by all accounts it may be right on the money! First off you can take the test yourself here http://www.channel4.com/gayometer.

This test pushes your gay tendencies to the limit. It asks everything from if you liked being the cowboy or the Indian when playing cowboys and Indians as kids to if you think you masturbate too much (who the hell would say they masturbate too much?!?!?)

I scored a 56%! I'm right in the middle..Aren't you slightly surprised and shocked?!??!
I was, I thought I'd be like 75% or something not a lowly 56%. I may take it over so I can get a better score.

View the photo of my score here.

Also view some photos of my bands show @ O'Connell's in San Diego here.

Cunning 25 year old male seeks 20's female for XMAS Party

The title says it all!
I posted an ad on craigslist asking for a young woman to accompany me to a company Christmas party. I've received like 7 replies from females and 2 from gay guys haha! The ad is basically a joke/experiement!

One gay guy had this to say

"You're a good looking guy, what do you need to post an
ad for? Any interest in lying back and enjoying a great BJ or
handjob from a gay guy? Nothing expected in return."

Damn guys are nasty! I dunno how girls deal with them!

If you would like to attend the Christmas party with me feel free to applying to my ad

Today Marks 1 Year Since I Left Massachusetts

I can't believe it's been exactly 1 year since I was last in Massachusetts. I haven't seen my mom, dad, sister or brother in a year either. It's really a strange feeling to go from living 30 minutes away from my family to 3,000 miles! Being that close to my family was always such a nice security blanket to have. If I ever needed anything or freaked out something they were a short car ride away to comfort me. Now I live in a place where I have no family and the only beings I'm truly completely comfortable with are Erica, Herbie & Stowie.

When I left for my journey to California 1 year ago my family had thrown me a going away party. Everyone was there my immediate family, grandmother, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc...Saying goodbye individually to my immediate family was one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life. My dad was the first to leave the party and when he said goodbye to me he started crying heavily and gave me a quick hug and took off. It took a lot from me to not start balling myself when he started. I started crying big time when I was saying goodbye to my mom, sister and brother. My mom was like "oh sonny I love you so much I'm going to miss you" and she hugged me forever and wouldn't let me go - haha :)
My sister was next to say goodbye and she's always the tough one giving encouragement "Gregg you're going to do awesome out there don't worry". My brother probably made me cry the most but it wasn't when I said goodbye and hugged him it was when Erica and I were driving off and I got a text message on my phone that said "I love you little bro I'm going to miss you & I'm really proud of you" it was one of the nicest coolest things my brother has ever said to me. He acts like such an unaffected person and he likes to keep his sappy feelings inside and him saying that really got me and I'll always remember that moment forever in my life.

I miss so many things about Massachusetts from the people to the food to the seasons to the familiar landscape I can't wait to move back and be with my family on more consistent basis.
I'm glad I did this move cause its helped me overcome a lot of fears of being far away from such a familiar place.

I'm going to post a "California 1 Year Anniversary" post on November 21 which is the day we arrived in San Diego!

We met at an open mic in 2001 and then in January 2002 we wrote our very first song "All We Know". We liked that song so much we decided to keep writing songs. We had about 20 songs when this security guard named Ted Anderson (used to be in a band with Joe Perry from Aerosmith) at the Radisson hotel where we played open mic at hooked us up with his friend Robert Holmes who was the lead guitarist for the band 'Til Tuesday. Robert had a home studio up in Vermont so Erica and I went up there in May 2002 to record "Dissin Treez" We finished that record and played out in Massachusetts and Rhode Island as an acoustic duo. In January 2005 we met Dave Tuetken. He found us because we placed an ad online looking for a drummer. We then recorded our 2nd album with Dave on drums and Erica on bass and me on guitar. We still haven't released this album haha even though its finished but it will be released soon enough :). The whole band moved out to San diego in November 2005 but Dave moved back to Rhode Island and left the band in April 2005. Erica and I went back to being an acoustic duo. In September 2005 we began recording our 3rd album and its also around this time Erica started to get easily upset with me and has found it hard working with others musically. She gave me the news that she didn't want to be in a band with me anymore about 2 weeks ago. I didn't announce it because I wanted to for her to go to Massachusetts and come back see what her final answer was. She told me last night that she was through with it so here I am today.

Erica was so easy to write music with, she comes up with harmonies effortlessly and it really added the extra mmmphh the songs we wrote needed. She sings awesome, has an incredible ear for what sounds good, bad or off. She is just an incredible musician and I'm super glad I met her. I couldn't have asked for a better person to write music with, it's been nothing but a good time writing/playing music with her. She's been the inspiration of many songs that I have written and she will continue to be. Thank you Erica for everything you've done for me & contributed to The Predicates - you're a one of a kind person.
